Marla Gibbs is a veteran American actress, singer, comedian, writer, and television producer. She made her screen debut in the martial arts flicks "Sweet Jesus, Preacher Man" and "Black Belt Jones" in the 1970s.
She became well-known for her portrayal as Florence Johnston in the CBS comedy "The Jefferson’s," for which she won five Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Following her success, she further gained widespread recognition for her remarkable part in a number of blockbuster films and television series such as "The Visit", "Love Jacked", "A Different World", "Days of Our Lives", and "The Thundermans".
