Marta Sanchez gained the name “The Queen of Spanish Pop” as a result of her remarkable contribution to pop music. She is known for releasing the singles “Dime la Verdad”, “Es La Noche del Amor”, “Superstar” and “La Que Nunca Se Rinde”. The latter peaked at number 11 on the Spain Singles Chart.

She is the daughter of an Opera singer Antonio Sanchez Camporro.
Career Highlights
Sanchez began her career in 1985 as a member of the then popular Spanish band of the 1980s Ole Ole. She came to the limelight after she replaced Vicky Larraz as the band’s lead singer. Together with the band, they released about 10 albums and they include “Bailando Sin Salir de Casa”, “Los Caballeros las Prefieren Rubias” and “Cuatro Hombres para Eva”.
She ventured into a solo career in 1991, and by 1993, she released her first album “Mujer” and it consisted of about 10 singles. She released other albums such as “Azabache”, “Desconocida”, “Soy Yo” and “Miss Sanchez”.
Collaborations
Sanchez was featured on Carlos Baute single “Colgando en tus manos”, which was released in 2008. The song became one of the most listened to in Spain and it remained as number one on iTunes records in Spain for close to five months.
Awards
Her album “Miss Sanchez” was crowned “Spanish Album of the Year” during the Shangay Awards in 2007.
Trivia
She made a special guest appearance during the 2007 EuroPride event.
