About Martin Bormann
Martin Bormann was the private secretary to the infamous dictator, Adolf Hitler.
Legacy
Martin was more than a supporter of the Nazi party he was a very powerful figure in the Third Reich and Hitler’s inner circle. He desired harsh treatment of Jewish people and Christians. He wanted Christianity to be considered criminal. He was in charge of taking over Catholic monasteries throughout Europe and expelling those that resided there. In 1945, right after Hitler committed suicide, Martin fled before the Red Army could arrive and arrest him. It is thought that Martin committed suicide by leaping from a nearby bridge.
Personal
Martin was married and had 10 children. After Martin’s wife died shortly after the war, the kids ended up in foster care. One son, Martin Adolf, whose godfather was Adolf Hitler, became a Roman Catholic priest.
