Personal life
The forward grew up in Southampton, England.
Football Career
He officially became known as a football player during his early days with CPC Sports football club and played with them for a year.
In his senior season, he signed a six-year deal with Southampton club and his debut with the English club was in 1962. During that period, he made 175 caps, scoring 96 goals.
In 1968, he got signed to Tottenham Hotspur, spent 8 years with the club and made 278 appearances. While at Hotspur, he assisted the club win the UEFA Cup in the 1971/1972 season.
Aside from the above-mentioned two clubs, he played for other clubs such as Servette, Norwich City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Dorchester Town.
Internationally, he played for the England national team for three years, scoring 13 goals in 24 matches.
He announced his retirement in 1983; and shortly after his retirement, he established a hotel in Hertfordshire, which he managed for a while.
Honors
During his two years playing for Servette FC, he guided the club to the Swiss Cup and Swiss League Cup title.
