He was an American musical genius who was a singer and songwriter and was part of Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship band.
Personal Life
When he was born, the name chosen for him was Martyn Jerel Buchwald. His father was a Jewish man by name Joseph Buchwald and his mother was Catherine Eugenia Talbot. He was known to be autistic when he was a child.
He studied at Washington High School. As an adult, he married Susan Joy Finkelstein and together, they birthed a few children. He later married Victoria Martin in 1963 before marrying Karen Deal, who passed away in 2010.
Career, Major Works & Collaborations
His first album release was “Balin” in 1981 and two years later, he released “Lucky”. In the same year, he released “There’s No Shoulder”. It was not until 1991 that he released his next album titled“Better Generation”.
Other tracks he has worked on include “Nobody But You”, “Atlanta Lady (Something About Your Love)”, and “Do It For Love”. There have also been a few artists he has worked with on their tracks including Country Joe McDonald, Kerry Kearney, Jessie Barish and Brian Chris Band.
Death
His life came to an end in 2018 when he was in his late seventies.
