About Masaharu Morimoto
Masaharu Morimoto is a famous Japanese chef. He has been an iron chef on the popular Japanese cooking show "Iron Chef" and its American version "Iron Chef America." Morimoto is also known for his unique food presentation styles.
Career
Morimoto began his career in Hiroshima, Japan, where he trained in sushi and Kaiseki cuisine. He opened his first restaurant in 1980 in the same city. Five years later, he closed down his restaurant and traveled to the United States. He quickly established himself on the New York City food scene and worked as the executive chef at the Sony Club. He was also head chef at the popular high-end restaurant Nobu. His skills and creativity caught the eye of "Iron Chef" producers, who invited him to join the Japanese cooking show.
Morimoto appeared in several spinoffs, including "Iron Chef America", "The Next Iron Chef", and "Iron Chef Gauntlet".
He has opened several restaurants worldwide in locations like Mumbai, Tokyo, and Boston. His Tokyo restaurant Morimoto XEX received a Michelin star in 2008.

The Japanese chef has appeared in other cooking shows, including "Hell's Kitchen", "Top Chef", and "Masterchef Italia."
Charity Work
In 2011, he performed a song at the Thousand Hearts Benefit for Japan after the country's earthquake and tsunami disaster.
