About Matt Cassel
After playing college football for the Trojans team of the University of South California, Matthew Brennan Cassel joined the National Football League (NFL) as a seventh-round pick by the New England Patriots during the 2005 NFL draft.
He shone brightest in the league when he played for the Kansas City Chiefs (2009-2012), especially in 2010.
From 2013 to 2018 (his year of retirement), he had spells with the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys.
Family Life
His mother is the set decorator, Barbara Cassel. She was divorced from his father, Greg Cassel, in the mid-1990s. He grew up with three siblings, including former MLB pitcher, Jack Cassel, in Northridge, Los Angeles.
Lauren Killian, whom he married in 2007, was a volleyball player at the University of South California.
Achievements
He played in the Pro Bowl game of 2010.
Trivia
He helped a Loch Lloyd, Missouri family escape from a 2012 home fire by alerting them on time.
