About Matt Groening
Matt Groening is a renowned American cartoonist, voice actor and writer famous for being the creator of the animated science fiction sitcom Futurama and the animated sitcom The Simpsons, which is regarded as one of the greatest television series of all time. He is also known for creating the comic strip Life in Hell.
In 1986, he got married to Deborah Caplan, with whom he had two sons: Homer and Abe. After about thirteen years of being married, he and Deborah officially brought an end to the marriage in 1999.
He has won dozens of awards throughout his career, including 12 Emmy Awards, which he won between 1990 and 2011.
In 2012, he received his first star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
He named the Simpson family members after his parents and siblings.
