About Matt Kenseth
At age 16, Matt Kenseth started his car racing career. His first recognized competition was at the 1988 Madison International Speedway race. He participated in many short track races before making his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut in 1996.
Since then, he has participated in many top competitions like the Winston Cup series, Coca-Cola 600, and the International Race of Champions.
Family
He was encouraged by his dad, Roy Kenseth. His mother is called Nicola Sue Kenseth. He has been married to a lady known as Katie Martin since 2000, and together they have been blessed with four kids. Ross Kenseth, his son from another relation, is also a popular driver.
Achievements
In 2009, he won the Daytona 500. He repeated the achievement three years later. After his impressive display in 2000, he was named Raybestos Rookie of the Year.
Trivia
His controversial win in 2003 led to the introduction of the "The Chase for the Nextel Cup" playoff system which was introduced in 2004.
