About Matthew Garber
Matthew Garber got the chance to pursue an acting career after actor Roy Dotrice, father of his future co-star, Karen Dotrice recommended him to Disney Casting. Hence, he was able to make his debut at seven years old with an appearance in the Disney film, “The Three Lives of Thomasina” in 1963 as Geordie McNab.
Garber is remembered best for his portrayal of Michael Banks in the Walt Disney musical fantasy film, “Mary Poppins”. He also starred in the 1967 film “The Gnome-Mobile” as Rodney Winthrop, which became his final film role. He starred in all three films of his career with Karen Dotrice.
Family Life
His father, Louis Garber was a stage actor. His younger brother’s name was Fergus.
Achievements
He was conferred with a Disney Legend status posthumously in 2004.

He died on June 13, 1977 at 21 years old from hemorrhagic necrotizing pancreatitis which was caused by untreated hepatitis.
