About Mattia Destro
In 2005, when he was around 14 years, Mattia Destro joined the youth system of Internazionale in his native Italy. After some great performances, he was promoted to the senior team and was selected for a number of friendly matches.
In 2010, the Italian striker was signed by Genoa, and after just a year he was transferred to Siena. His impressive performances earned him a deal with Italian giants A.S. Roma in 2012. Known for his goal scoring prowess, Destro has also played for some popular teams like Bologna, and AC Milan.
International career
This soccer star was first selected to the Italy U16 team in 2006. He rose through the ranks before making his senior debut in 2012. His name was included in the provisional list for the FIFA World Cup tournament in 2014, but couldn’t make it onto the final list.
Family
His father Flavio Destro is a retired Italian soccer player. He got married to a model, Ludovica Caramis, in 2014. Six years later, they had their first child named Leone Destro.
Trivia
He was included in Inter’s 2010 UEFA Champions League winning team, though he didn’t play any of their matches throughout the competition.
