About Mauro Zárate
Argentine soccer star Mauro Zárate gained international fame after scoring the winning goal for his country at the FIFA U-20 World Cup tournament in 2007. His performance at the competition drew lots of interest from many top teams across the world and was later snatched by Qatari side Al-Sadd.
He featured in his first professional game at the age of 17 as a player for Vélez Sarsfield in his home country. He has gone on to play for many renowned teams like Lazio, West Ham United, Inter Milan, and Boca Juniors.

He’s the son of Sergio Zárate who played soccer at the professional level. His brothers Ariel, Sergio, and Rolando are former professional soccer stars.
