About MF Doom
MF Doom was a rapper and songwriter whose stage persona was inspired by the Marvel Comics supervillain Dr. Doom. He was known for wearing masks to obscure his face while performing live shows. His well-known songs include 1999's "Rhymes Like Dimes" and 2004's "Rapp Snitch Knishes".
Career
His musical career began in 1988 with the group KMD, which included his brother DJ Subroc. KMD was signed to Elektra Records and released the album "Mr. Hood". The group was later dropped from the label after the death of DJ Subroc. The death of his brother forced him to leave the music industry for a while. However, he returned to the hip hop scene a couple of years later and signed a recording deal with Fondle 'Em Records as a solo artist.
Collaborations
He was involved in numerous collaborative works with other notable artists. For instance, he frequently worked with popular DJ and producer, Madlib. They worked together under the stage name Madvillian. In 2004 they released an album titled, “Madvillainy”.
He also worked with musicians such as Ghostface Killa, Jneiro Jarel, and Danger Mouse.
Death
His wife, who is identified as Jasmine, confirmed via an Instagram post that the rapper had passed on October 31, 2020.
Facts
He was known outside music as Daniel Dumile.
He lost his fourteen year old son, King M. Ezekiel Dumile, in December of 2017.
The rapper was also known by other names such as “Metal Face” and “Metal Fingers”.
