About Michael Gough
Michael Gough was a popular figure in the British movie industry during the 1950s. After performing in a number of stage productions, he earned his first film role in 1948 when he appeared in “Blanche Fury” as Laurence Fury.
His partnership with Hammer Horror Films played a crucial role in the development of his career. He gained enormous fame for his performance as Alfred Pennyworth in the “Batman” films between 1989 and 1997. His other roles such as Sir Arthur Holmwood in the 1958 horror film “Dracula” further increased his popularity.

His parents were Frances Atkins Bailie and Francis Berkeley Gough. He married his fourth wife Henrietta Lawrence in 1980. Prior to that, he was married to movie actress Anneke Wills between 1962 and 1979. He has also been the husband of Anne Leon, and Diana Graves. He had 4 kids.
Education
Before starting his education at Wye Agricultural College, he studied at Durham School, and Rose Hill School.
Awards
He won the “Best Actor” prize at the 1956 British Academy Television Awards. He also received a prize at the 1978 Tony Awards.
