The musician was born to Thayne Alden Hedges and Ruth Evelyn Hedges Ipsen. Hedges fell in love with music at an early age and enrolled in Philips University to continue his studies in guitar and composition.
Career
The musician's career took off in 1981 when he signed under Windham Hill Records and debuted his first album called "Breakfast in the Field". The success he garnered led him to release other groundbreaking albums such as "Aerial Boundaries" in 1984, "Watching My Life Go By" in 1985, and "Taproot" in 1990. In 1994, he recorded "The Road to Return" featuring 8 vocal arrangements and 2 instrumentals. His recording "Torched" was released posthumously in 1999, two years after his death.
Personal Life and Death
The musician married Mindy Rosenfeld but divorced in the 1980s. He died in a motor accident in 1997 and was survived by 2 children.
