About Michael Wittmann
Michael Wittmann was hailed as a hero and honored with multiple accolades for his exploits during the Second World War. He served in the war as a tank commander of the Waffen-SS, the N--i Party’s SS organization military branch. Taking charge of the Tiger I heavy tank, the German commander found fame through his victories in the Eastern Front of the War, especially the Battle of Villers-Bocage. He is a polarizing figure amongst historians due to some being of the opinion that his true abilities have been overrated.

He was a recipient of the Iron Cross, Panzer Badge and the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords.
