About Mick Hucknall
Michael James Hucknall, better known as Mick Hucknall became recognized internationally through his work with the famous soul and pop band, Simply Red. He performed as the band’s lead singer and songwriter from its formation in 1985.
He began his career in 1979 as a member of the band, Frantic Elevators. Two years prior to the 2010 disbandment of Simply Red, he released his debut solo album, “Tribute to Bobby”.
Family Life
At three years old, his mother, Maureen abandoned him and his father, Reginald Hucknall. In 2007, he and his partner, Gabriella Wesberry had a daughter. They married three years later.
Achievements
His career honors include a MOBO Lifetime Achievement Award and a BASCA Gold Badge Award.
Trivia
He has been an active supporter of the United Kingdom’s Labour Party.
