About Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi
Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi was globally celebrated for coming up with the term “flow”, which in psychology is used to describe a mental state where one is fully involved in what he or she is doing.
The Hungarian-American psychologist, whose works were mainly on creativity and happiness, published many books with the most popular ones labelled “Beyond Boredom and Anxiety: Experiencing Flow in Work and Play”, “Creativity: Flow and the Psychology of Discovery and Invention” and “Good Business: Leadership, Flow, and the Making of Meaning”.
Csikszentmihalyi was also a university professor and worked in institutions like the University of Chicago, Claremont Graduate University, and Lake Forest College.
Family
He lost his two brothers at an early age. In 1961, he married a woman named Isabella Selega and they had two kids which included artist Christopher Csíkszentmihályi.

The renowned psychologist studied at the University of Chicago.
Recognitions
His works earned him many accolades including the Széchenyi Prize, Clifton Strengths Prize, and the Grand Cross Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary. He was also selected into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the National Academy of Education.
