About Mike Adamle
Former sports personality and player in the National Football league, Mike Adamle is best known for hosting “American Gladiators.” Throughout his diverse sports career, he’s risen to become one of the biggest wrestling personalities in the United States.
Early Life and NFL Career
Adamle attended Northwestern University, where he played college football. He was the team captain and became the 1970 Big Ten MVP. He set records during his college career for the most rushing yards and kick return yards before graduating in 1971. He joined the NFL for six years, playing for both the New York Jets and the Chicago Bears.
Later Years
Following his NFL retirement, Adamle worked as a reporter for several sporting events. He also co-hosted “American Gladiators” between 1989 and 1996. He also worked as a presenter, covering the 1988 Winter Olympics, as well as the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympic Games held in Sydney and Athens, respectively.
In 2007, he joined World Wrestling Entertainment as an interviewer. He later became the general manager of the RAW brand.
Family Life
Adamle has four children with his wife Kim. He also has epilepsy and worked with Epilepsy Foundation. In 2017, he announced that he had been diagnosed with dementia.
Awards
He won Worst Television Announcer and the Gooker Award in 2008.
