Born in Alberta, Canada, he developed a strong passion for literature and reading. He once said in an interview that he had read all of William Shakespeare’s books except one.
Nickelback and Other Career Highlights
Prior to the release of their hugely successful “How You Remind Me,” the band, through Roadrunner Records, released their 2nd studio album “The State” in 1999. Their epic 2005 album “All the Right Reasons” comprised charted singles, including “Faraway” and “Rockstar.” They made national headlines when they released the long awaited album “San Quentin” in 2005. The album was their first in five years. Other studio albums that Kroeger helped the band make are “The Long Road,” “Here and Now” and “Get Rollin'”
Recognition
Kroeger’s band placed 7th on the Billboard’s “Artist of the Decade.” In 2008, they received the SOCAN International Achievement Award.

Mike Kroeger and the band’s lead vocalist Chad Kroeger are half-brothers. They are also the original members of Nickelback.
