Mike Ried was a father of 3, an actor and comedian who put smiles on the faces of all. He was also an occasional TV presenter who hosted the popular children's show "Runaround". His strong English accent can be heard in the funny roles he portrays in his movies.
Early Life
Reid was the son of Ellen Louvain and Sidney Reid. He enrolled in the Rowland Hill School and later took on comedy as an early profession. He did his work diligently and refrained from introducing any form of blasphemy into his act.
Career
Reid continued to do stand-up comedy from the early 1960s and upgraded himself by playing an extra in unaccredited TV roles. He also worked as a stuntman in "Casino Royale” and "Dirty Dozen" in 1967. He became a famous comedian in the 1970s and starred in roles such as "Puss in Boots", “Snatch" and "The Bill".
Personal Life and Death
Reid married Sheila Reid from 1958 to 1967 and later married Shirley Collins from 1971 to 2001. He had a total of 3 children and died in 2007 from a heart attack.
