About Mikis Theodorakis
Mikis Theodorakis was a legendary Greek composer and lyricist who produced over 1,000 works throughout his career. He was best known for his soundtracks for the 1964 films "Zorba the Greek" and "Zorba the Greek II".
Mr. Theodorakis created hundreds of classical and popular works, including symphonies, operas, ballets, cinema soundtracks, and stage music. He also created socialist tone poems which talked about the struggle of workers and oppressed peoples, as well as wartime resistance anthems.
The "Mauthausen Trilogy", named after a World War II Nazi concentration camp, was his most popular work on political persecutors.
