About Miklós Fehér
Miklós Fehér’s career as a professional footballer was sadly cut off by his death at the young age of 24. The Hungarian striker began playing professionally in his home country with the club, ETO in 1995.
In 1998, he moved to Portugal as a signee of Porto. However, it was while on loan at Braga from Porto that he performed best in the Primeira Liga. He moved to Benfica, also of the Primeira Liga in 2002 and played for the team until his death in 2004.
Achievements
He was the recipient of the 1997 “Young Hungarian Player of the Year” award and the 2001 Ferenc Puskas Award.
Death
He died on 25 January 2004 from a cardiac arrest during a televised match between Benfica and Vitoria de Guimaraes.
Trivia
Of 25 total appearances for Hungary in international matches, he scored seven goals.
