About Mohammad Mosaddegh
Mohammad Mosaddegh was an Iranian politician best known for being the 60th and 662nd Prime Minister of Iran. He served as the 62nd Prime Minister of Iran from 1952 until 1953, when he was overthrown in a coup d'état secretly carried out by the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in conjunction with the British Secret Intelligence Service. Shortly after his overthrow, he was tried and imprisoned. He died in 1967 while under house arrest.
Personal Life
He was married to Zahra Khanum from 1901 until her death in 1965. The marriage produced two sons and three daughters.
Trivia
He made history in 1913 when he became the first Iranian to get a PhD in Law from a university in Europe.
After he was tried and convicted in 1953, he reportedly told the court that he was grateful that he was convicted since that would only increase his historical glories.
