About Morarji Desai
Morarji Desai was an Indian politician and activist best known for being the 4th Prime Minister of India. He served as Prime Minister from 1977 to 1979. Before his ascension to the office of the Prime Minister, he held a number of posts such as the Minister of Finance, Minister of Home Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of India. Outside politics, he was known for his peace activism. He played an instrumental role in creating friendly relations between India and Pakistan. In 1990, he was honored with Pakistan's highest civilian award, Nishan-e-Pakistan.
Personal Life
He married Gujraben in 1911 when he was only 15 years old. The marriage produced a son named Kanti Desai.
Trivia
He was a practitioner of urine therapy and often spoke about the health benefits of drinking urine.
