About Mr. T
Lawrence Tureaud, widely known as Mr. T is a legendary American actor, TV personality, retired professional wrestler and bodyguard. He is best recognized for portraying the role of boxer, Clubber Lang in Rocky III (1982), and B. A. Baracus in the popular TV series entitled, The A-Team.
Tureaud worked as a bodyguard for top personalities including Michael Jackson, Muhammad Ali, Diana Ross, Leon Spinks, Joe Frazier, and Steve McQueen.
In 1984, he released an EP titled, Mr. T’s Commandments.
Family Life
His father was a Christian minister named Nathaniel Tureaud. He is the youngest among seven brothers and four sisters. He has had two daughters and a son with his ex-wife, Phyllis Clark.
Achievements
Tureaud and his tag-team partner, Hulk Hogan won the WrestleMania I championship at the World Wrestling Federation in 1985.
In 2014, he was inducted into the WWE’s Hall of Fame.
Trivia
He was featured on TV Land’s reality show, I Pity the Fool in 2006.
He is vastly noted for his unique hairstyle, tough-guy personality and gold jewelry, which is inspired by the West African Mandinka warriors.
