About Mumia Abu-Jamal
Mumia Abu-Jamal is a writer, journalist and activist known for being convicted for the 1981 murder of Officer Daniel Faulkner of the Philadelphia police. He was sentenced to death in 1982 and spent several decades on death row. His conviction has over the years been strongly criticized by a number of activists and celebrities, many of whom believe he is innocent. After a number of appeals, the death penalty was dropped and he was resentenced to life imprisonment without parole.
