About Neil Bogart
Before finding fame as an executive in the music industry, Neil Bogart had performed in the 1960s as a singer under the name Neil Scott. He started with a management position at the Cameo-Parkway Records’ Michigan offices and moved on to another executive position at Buddah Records after the former closed down.
Bogart is best known as the founder of Casablanca Records, through which he signed artists such as Kiss, Donna Summer, T.Rex, the Village People and Fanny. He sold Casablanca in 1980 to Polygram and founded Boardwalk Records.

He was born Neil Scott Bogatz to Al M. Bogatz and Ruth Markoff. He was raised in the Glenwood Houses, Brooklyn, New York City. He was married to Joyce Bogart with whom he had four children.
Death
He died on May 8, 1982 from cancer and lymphoma. He was 39 years old.
