He is a Northern Irish singer and songwriter, who is known for being the brain box of the band, "The Divine Comedy", which he founded in 1989. The group rose to prominence between the mid and the late 1990s. The group brags of highly successful albums which are; "Casanova" (1986) and "A Short Albums About Love (1997).
He has been musically involved with sitcoms such as "The IT Crowd" (2006 - 2013), "Father Ted" (1995 - 1998).
