About Neil Peart
Neil Peart was a Canadian-born American drummer renowned for being the main lyricist, drummer and percussionist of the Canadian rock band Rush. In addition to being a drummer, he was also an author, who had over the years published a number of memoirs. As a member of Rush, he was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and 2013 respectively.
Personal Life
In 2000, he and professional photographer Carrie Nuttal tied the knot. The couple welcomed a daughter named Olivia Louise Peart in 2009.
Trivia
In 1983, he became the youngest person to be honored with an induction into the prestigious Modern Drummer Hall of Fame.
In 1997, his 19-year-old daughter Selena Taylor tragically lost her life in car accident. 10 months after the tragedy, his common law wife Jacqueline Taylor died from cancer.
