Personal Life
When he was born, Neil Francis Tennant was the name given to him. His mother was Sheila Tennant and his father was William Tennant who worked as a sales representative. He was one of the four children his parents had. He was enrolled into St. Cuthbert’s Grammar School. It was around that time that he started learning to play different instruments including the guitar and the cello. In 1994, he shared his sexual orientation with the public and made them aware he was gay when he was interviewed for the Attitude Magazine.
Career
In 2018, he worked on the book “One Hundred Lyrics and a Poem (2018) – a collection of Pet Shop Boys Lyrics and song-by-song commentaries. Prior to that, he worked for Marvel UK as a production editor. He later joined Chris Lowe and together, they formed “Pet Shop Boys”. They did wonderful work together and sold over one hundred million records all over the World and even made it to the Guiness Book of Records in 1999 as the most successful duo in UK Music history.
