About Nenê
Nenê is a retired basketball player from Brazil. As a child, he started playing soccer. Later in his teenage years, he converted to a basketball player when he trained with Escola de Basquete Meneghelli. In 1999, he became a professional player when he joined Vasco da Gama. In 2002, he was drafted by the New York Knicks in that year’s NBA draft. After, he moved to the Denver Nuggets and spent ten seasons with the club. In the middle of the 2012 season, he signed a contract with the Washington Wizards. Later, Nenê joined the Houston Rockets in 2016 and spent four years with the team.
On the international stage, Nenê played for the senior national basketball team of Brazil. He represented his nation at 2001, 2003, and 2007 FIBA AmeriCup, the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, and the FIBA World Cup in 2014. At the end of his career, he played 965 games, registered an average of 11.3 points, had an average of 6.0 total rebounds, and an assist of 1.8.

He is the offspring of Jose Paulo and Carmen Hilario. He has two siblings named Mayaramy Hilario, and Maykon Hilario. In 2009, he wedded Lauren Prothe but divorced her in 2016. Nenê has given birth to three.
Awards
In 2001, he won the silver medal with Brazil at the 2001 FIBA AmeriCup. Again, he won a bronze medal with his national team at the 2001 Goodwill Games. In 2003, he was selected to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
