About Nick Valensi
Nick Valensi started performing in a band during his time in high school when he came into contact with Julian Casablancas and Fabrizio Moretti. The informal group metamorphosed into the famous band known as The Strokes after Nikolai Fraiture, and Albert Hammond, Jr. joined the collective.
He helped them to complete a number of musical projects including their maiden album “Is This It” which was released in 2001. By the end of 2020, the American musician, who usually performs as the lead guitarist, has helped the band to release a total of six albums.
Other projects
Valensi is also the founder of the music group called CRX. As the guitarist and lead singer, he has played key roles in the group’s many projects such as their debut album “New Skin”. In 2019, they launched their second album which was under the name “Peek”.
Family
His mother, Danielle, is French while his dad is a Tunisian. He has been married to television personality and photographer Amanda de Cadenet since 2006. They have a set of twins named Ella and Silvan.
Education
He met his future band mate during his time at The Dwight School. He later continued at Hunter College.
Trivia
Valensi has gone on to perform with other musicians like Kate Pierson, and Regina Spektor.
He has mentioned George Harrison, and Bob Marley as some of his inspirations.
