About Norman Whitfield
Norman Whitfield was one of the founders of Motown Sound. The celebrated American songwriter spent over two decades in the music industry, mostly with Motown Records. He wrote many hit songs including Marvin Gaye’s "Pride & Joy" and 1968’s "Cloud Nine" which was released by The Temptations.
Other Works
Whitfield wasn’t only known for his song writing prowess, but also for his production works. He was the producer of The Temptations’ 1973 album dubbed “1990”. He also produced The Supremes’ second album titled “Where Did Our Love Go”.
After cutting ties with Motown in 1975, Whitfield established his own record label called Whitfield Records. Through this, he had the opportunity to works with some celebrated musicians like Willie Hutch, and Rose Royce.
