About Obie Trice
After a number of performances as an underground artiste, Obie Trice was signed onto the Shady Records in the year 2000. The partnership offered him the chance to appear on the “Devil's Night” album by the group known as D12.
In 2003, he issued his maiden studio album which was under the name “Cheers”. The album contained hit songs like "Got Some Teeth" and "Don't Come Down". After leaving the record label, which was founded by rapper Eminem, Trice created his own label known as Black Market Entertainment.
Shooting incidents
In 2005, he was attacked by unknown gunmen in Detroit. According to reports, he was struck by a bullet in his head after six had hit the body of the car he was driving. In 2019, he was grabbed by the police for allegedly shooting the son of his then-girlfriend. He was later given 90 days jail sentence.

He met Virgil Smith Jr., then State Senator of Michigan, in 2011 to talk about opportunities in the entertainment industry.
He began competing in rap battles at age 14.
