About Oliver Hardy
Oliver Hardy discovered his love for theatre and stage performances when he was very young. From 1914 to 1927, he appeared in a variety of motion pictures in typecast roles.
He began to garner attention after he was paired with fellow comic actor, Stan Laurel in 1927. The duo, which came to be known as Laurel and Hardy, rose to fame through their appearances in more than 100 films from 1927 to 1955 including “The Flying Deuces” and “The Music Box”.
Family Life
He was the son of Emily Norvell and Oliver Hardy. He grew up alongside four elder siblings. He was divorced twice before meeting Virginia Lucille Jones, to whom he was married to, from 1940 until his death.
Achievements
He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Death
He died on 7 August 1957 from cerebral thrombosis.
