Omar Hakim is a remarkably gifted American artist, drummer, producer, arranger, composer, and one of the most influential people in jazz and pop music history.
Growing up with a strong musical talent, he started playing drums in his father's band at age 5. In the 1980s, Hakim started serving as Carly Simon's supporting singer.
Hakim has worked with many famous musicians and musical groups such as David Bowie, Miles Davis, Sting, Madonna, Bryan Ferry, George Benson, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion during his incredibly successful career, which has spanned more than four decades. A few of the tracks he has contributed to include "Giving You the Best That I Got," "Let's Talk About Love," "Kiss My Axe," and "Hello Tomorrow."
