Oscar de la Renta was one of the most well-known fashion designers in the world. He has been dubbed "The Sultan of Suave," "Couture Conquistador," and "Guru of Glamour" among many other titles during the course of his illustrious career.
Oscar de la Renta's garments were noted for combining old-world craftsmanship with modernism. His parents were María Antonia Fiallo, and Óscar Avelino de la Renta. He was married to France editor Françoise de Langlade from 1967 until she died from a complication of bone cancer in 1983. Later in 1989, he married American philanthropist and socialist Annette de la Renta and the couple remained together until his demise in 2014. He adopted a son called Moises de la Renta.
