About Pamela Wallin
Before starting her political career, Pamela Wallin worked as a journalist. As a media person, she was best known for her time with CBC Television where she hosted shows like “Pamela Wallin Live” and “Prime Time News”. She got into active politics in 2002 when she started working at Canada's consul based in New York City.
Seven years later, then a member of the Conservative Party, she was selected into Canada’s Senate as a representative from Saskatchewan. She left the party in 2013 and joined the Independent Conservative. After six years, she switched to the Canadian Senators Group.
Personal Life
In 1987, she became the wife of Malcolm Fox.
Education
At the University of Regina (then known as the University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus), she read political science and psychology.
Recognitions
Institutions such as the University of Windsor, and Athabasca University have awarded her with their honorary degrees.
Trivia
She was the host of Canada’s version of the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” game show in 2000.
As a writer, she has published some books including “Speaking of Success” and “Since You Asked”.
She became a board member of Bell Globemedia in 2006.
In 2001, the politician was said to be suffering from colorectal cancer.
