About Pat Quinn
Patrick Joseph Quinn Jr. started out in politics as an activist through The Coalition for Political Honesty, an organization, which he founded in the 1970s, prior to taking up public office service.
He is known best for his time as the 41st Governor of Illinois (2009-2015). Before then, he had served on the Cook County Board of Appeals as its Commissioner (1982-1986), was the 70th Treasurer of Illinois (1991-1995) and then the 45th Lieutenant Governor of Illinois (2003-2009).
Family Life
His father, Patrick Joseph Quinn, was the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago’s PRO while his mother worked as a school secretary. He was married to Julie Hancock from 1982 to 1986. They had two sons together.
Trivia
He lost the bid to represent the Democratic Party in the Illinois state senatorial elections in 1996.
