About Pat Summerall
Pat Summerall, a former American football player, is best known for his work as a sportscaster for the sports division of the television networks CBS, Fox, and ESPN. He primarily announced for football games and holds the distinction for working in the most number of Super Bowls (16). He also announced in 26 Masters Tournaments (golf) and 21 U.S. Opens (tennis). He is a member of the respective Hall of Fame of the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association and the American Sportscasters Association.
Football Career
After playing for the Arkansas Razorbacks in college, he was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 1952 NFL Draft. He would go on to enjoy a 10-year professional career playing for two other teams, Chicago Cardinals and New York Giants.
