About Patrice Bergeron
Patrice Bergeron, in full Patrice Bergeron-Cleary, is a highly talented Canadian professional ice hockey player. He is famed for playing as a center for NHL's Boston Bruins. He was drafted by the team in 2003.
Early Career
He was raised in his native L'Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec. The player starred for Sainte-Foy, Quebec City during the 1999 and 1998 "Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments." After playing for "A" hockey's Séminaire St-François Blizzard in 2002, he moved to Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
Professional Career
In 2003, his career saw significant improvement when he was drafted as the 45th overall pick by the Boston Bruins during the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He has had a successful stay with the Boston Bruins and was ultimately selected as captain of the team. With over 1000 caps and over 300 goals, he is also one of the best players in the history of the Boston Bruins. In 2011, he led them to a successful Stanley cup title.
As of 2021, he was a four-time winner of the NHL's "Frank J. Selke Trophy."
International Career
Bergeron was part of the Canadian team that won gold titles at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics, 2012 Spengler Cup, 2005 World Junior Championships, and 2004 World Championships.
