Patricia Polacco is an American author who, despite suffering from educational issues in her youth, went on to write a plethora of books throughout her career. She is primarily recognized for her contributions to children’s literature and resultantly has been honored in that regard.
Between 1988 and 2016 she has authored more than 60 books.
Throughout the 1990s, she has been involved in creating other forms of children’s media.
Family Life
She has two children, via her first marriage, named Steven and Traci.
In 1979 she re-married, this time to a chef named Enzo Polacco, whom she eventually divorced.
Achievements
In 1993 a book she wrote named “Chicken Sunday” took home a Golden Kite Award, which is given to outstanding works of children’s literature.
Trivia
Polacco suffered from dyslexia as a child and did not actually learn how to read until she became a teenager.
