About Paul Mealor
The Welsh composer Paul Mealor is considered by many as one of the world's most successful composers of the early 21st century. The composer rose to fame after his motet "Ubi Caritas et Amor" was performed at Prince William and Catherine Middleton's wedding in 2011.
Early Life
Paul Mealor graduated from the University of York and the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
Career
The composer performed numerous originals and a cappella, such as "Hidden Arias" and "Elegy for a Play of Shadows" in 2001. He also performed "De Profundis" in 2005, "Aurora Lucis Rutilat" in 2006, "She Walks in Beauty" in 2010, "Wherever You Are" in 2011, and "Piano Concerto" in 2020.
Achievements
Mealor was appointed as an Officer of the Venerable Order of St John in 2018.
The composer was appointed a Commander of The Catholic Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem in 2020.
