About Paul Roma
Paul Centopani, often called by his ring name "Paul Roma," is an American former professional wrestler. Roma is best known as part of the most talented and exciting tag teams in international wrestling between the 1980s and 1990s.
Background & Early Career
Kensington, New York, is his hometown. Centopani loved wrestling from an early age. During his teens, the renowned American wrestler Tony Altomare trained him at a gym in New York.
Major Career Highlights
From 1985, he became a regular wrestler for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). However, his first professional victory at the WWF came in 1985, when he defeated Steve Lombardi during a house show in Brooklyn, New York.
His career shot to stardom in 1987, when he partnered with Jim Powers to form the tag team "Young Stallions." However, although they never clinched a tag team title, they were arguably the most exciting WWF tag teams between 1987 and 1989. From 1900 until he left the WWF in 1992, he was part of the "Power & Glory" tag team with Hercules Hernandez.
In late 1992, he joined the WCW. He was a one-time WCW and NWA Tag Team Champion with Arn Anderson and a two-time WCW champion with Paul Orndorff. In addition, he was part of the legendary tag team "Four Horseman."
