Paul Silas is a former American basketballer and retired head coach under the NBA. He schooled at Creighton University where he played and was able to make a remarkable impact.
He began his coaching career with the San Diego Clippers immediately after he retired from playing. He stepped out of the aforementioned club and went over to New Jersey Nets where he worked as an assistant coach for one season.
Some of the clubs in which he has worked with include St. Louis / Atlanta Hawks (1964 - 1969), Phoenix Suns (1969 - 1972), Denver Nuggets (1972 - 1977), Seattle SuperSonics (1977 - 1980), and more.

He is noted to have gotten married to Carolyn Silas. He is father to American basketball coach, Stephen Silas.

He was named "NCAA rebounding leader" in 1963.
Silas’ Number 35 shirt was retired by Creighton Bluejays.
