About Peggy Noonan
Peggy Noonan, born Margaret Ellen Noonan, is an American author, columnist, political speechwriter and political commentator. She is arguably best recognized for her service as President Ronald Reagan’s main speechwriter and Special Assistant from 1984 to 1986. She is also widely known for her column, “Declarations” which has been featured in The Wall Street Journal since 2000. Prior to working in the White House, she had served as a CBS News writer and producer and then as a New York University adjunct professor of journalism.
Family Life
She was born to a merchant seaman father and was raised in Brooklyn, New York, Massapequa Park, Long Island and Rutherford, New Jersey. She was married to economist Richard W. Rahn from 1985 to 1990. They had one son together before their divorce.
