About Pete Conrad
Pete Conrad was a NASA astronaut of American nationality. He landed on the moon in 1969 with the Apollo 12 spacecraft. Conrad was the third man to land on the moon.
Education
Conrad studied at Haverford School, Darrow School, and Princeton University.
Personal Life
He was the offspring of Frances De Rappelage and Charles Conrad Sr. Conrad got married to Jane DuBose in 1953 but divorced her in 1988. He later married Nancy Crane in 1990. He fathered four children namely, Thomas, Peter, Andrew, and Christopher. As a child, he had a reading disorder.
Death
He died in 1999 from a motorcycle accident.
Awards
Conrad has won Two Navy Distinguished Service Medals, two Distinguished Flying Crosses, two NASA Distinguished Service Medals, and two NASA Exceptional Service Medals. Additionally, in 1974, he won Harmon Trophy and Thompson Trophy.
