About Peter Hook
Born Peter Woodhead, he is a musician and an instrumentalist of a British nationality. He is popularly known as the co-founder and bassist of the English rock bands New Order and Joy Division.
In 1976, he formed the British rock band (Joy Division) with Bernard Sumner. Some of his albums include “One True Passion” with Revenge, “It's a Beautiful Life” with Freebass and “Music for Pleasure” with Monaco. Also, he played several instruments such as the bass guitar, electronic drums and synthesizer.
Education
He studied at Salford Grammar School.
Personal Life
He is the son of John Woodhead and Irene. He had two brothers named Paul and Christopher. He married three times. First to Iris Bates, then to Caroline Aherne (married in 1994, divorced in 1997) and lastly to Rebecca Jones. He has three children including Jack and Heather.
Trivia
He lived in Jamaica and England when he was young.
He was featured in the 2002 film “24 Hour Party People”.
He has published books which include “The Hacienda: How Not to Run a Club” in 2010 and “Substance: Inside New Order” in 2016.
