Background
Safran was born in London but moved to the United States to attend Princeton University. He obtained his law degree from the New York University School of Law and started his career as a corporate attorney in New York.
His Career in Film
Safran became the president of a talent agency Brillstein-Grey Management in 2003 and he was exposed to stars such as Brad Pitts, and Sean Combs whom he befriended. After leaving Brillstein-Grey, he started his company The Conjuring Universe, and used his influential friends to produce films such as the 2012 thriller “True Love”, the 2013 horror film “The Conjuring”, “Annabelle”, and “The Nun”.
In October, Safran alongside producer James Gunn were named co-chairs and co-CEOs of DC Studios. Safran has been responsible for the business aspect of the company. However, in December 2022, the pair came under fire for removing Henry Cavill from the role of Superman.
